PART2: Commitment information

Technical and commercial assistance concerning waste manure treatment for BSAG
Professional service
Helsinki Energy has a lot of experience in using gas as a fuel, and biogas will be one interesting alternative in future plans to reduce city's greenhouse gas emissions, when the produced biogas can be converted to synthese gas and the gas can be conducted through the gas pipeline to Helsinki to replace fossil fuels. Helen can support the starting project by serving technical assistance in concept planning of the project.
Eutrophication
To minimize the diffuse nutrient loading to the Eastern Gulf of Finland from agriculture and animal farming.
Close cooperation with the local farms and poultry plants, the local and regional authorities and the financiers for the technology investments

Significant effort
2010 March 1st
6 months
In the Leningrad Oblast area, the amount of waste that is produced in the animal farms and large chicken farms equals to the amount of a large metropolitan area. Alone the industrial poultry plants produce huge amounts of manure waste. A single chicken farm can produce 50 000-70 000 tons of waste manure per year. The potential production capacity of biogas will be approximately 3-5 TWh/a.
